Editor’s Letter (Issue n.1)
Welcome to the premier issue of NOMAD Magazine!
When The Nomad Alliance called late last year and inquired about the creation of a magazine dedicated to the neighborhood, the Ac Media team enthusiastically jumped into the project. Our offices are on the edge of the current NoMad boundaries, so we were already immersed in the neighborhood and loyal patrons of its vibrant mix of dining, retail, and hospitality spaces.
We have spent the last few weeks exploring, exercising, shopping, primping, playing, and eating in New York City’s most exciting address. This issue of NOMAD Magazine tells the stories of the dynamic people and businesses who live, work, and play in NoMad. We appreciate all who welcomed us into your workspaces and homes; shared your time and trusted us with your stories.
For our premier issue advertisers, we thank you for embracing our vision and being a part of this new initiative. Your support contributes to The NoMad Alliance and the Madison Square Park Conservancy, helping to fortify, enhance and preserve this beloved neighborhood.
We thank the team at the Madison Park Conservancy and encourage everyone to support their efforts to care for the treasured park. The park has been part of the New York City landscape since 1698 and its gardens, dog park, and gathering spaces offer a sanctuary in the bustle of the city.
Ac Media is a part of the Accessories Council, a 30-year-old, not-for-profit trade association that is dedicated to helping our membership increase sales. We publish Ac Magazine, a quarterly shoppable digital and limited print publication, with millions of pages read in over 100 countries. We are taking the same approach with NOMAD Magazine, creating an interactive quarterly digital dedicated to driving business in the district.
We encourage you to reach out with ideas for stories, share your events, and suggest people we should meet! In the meantime, you will find me grabbing overnight oats at Think Coffee, meeting friends for lunch at The Ned, getting a manicure at Sundays, sipping wine at Vin Sur Vingt, and trying to work it all off at Mile High Run Club.
Sincerely,
Karen Giberson
