Publisher’s Letter (Issue n.2)
Dear Readers,
I am both proud and excited to celebrate the release of NOMAD Magazine Issue #2. The reaction to our Premier issue was beyond expectations and confirmation that the NoMad community is welcoming our publication and all that it has to offer while furthering the mission of The NoMad Alliance.
I have the distinct honor and pleasure of serving on three incredible boards: the Flatiron NoMad Partnership (BID), the Madison Square Park Conservancy, and The NoMad Alliance, where I serve as both president and founder. From this unique vantage point, I am exposed to the inner workings of how neighborhoods are maintained, parks are protected, and communities are promoted, and have had a hand in leveraging collaborative efforts, innovative programming, and member engagement.
Included in this second issue of NOMAD Magazine, you will find articles on our ever-evolving BID, our magnificent Park and our growing Alliance, all of which highlight the differences between us as well as the synergies and overlap of our missions and our visions. In this case the whole is definitely greater than the sum of our parts. It is the community that is cultivated by each of these organizations that makes our neighborhood so special.
Enjoy the pages of Issue #2 while you read up on all that is NoMad, from the people who make this neighborhood great, to the must visit hotspots and local attractions. My team looks forward to continuing to bring you quality content focused on the NoMad mantra of “Live, Work, Play.”
As you have probably heard by now, “There’s no place like NoMad.”
With pride and affection,
Leslie Spira Lopez
Founder and President, The NoMad Alliance
