Editor’s Letter (Issue n.7)
Dear NOMAD Readers,
Each season, as we dive deeper into the people, places, and opportunities in the NoMad neighborhood, we continue to be amazed by the sheer variety of experiences this dynamic district offers. From casual nights out to fine dining, world-class fitness centers to thought-provoking educational opportunities, this area is an endless source of inspiration.
In this issue, we’ve expanded our reach to include some of Flatiron’s treasures, further proving that these neighborhoods truly have it all. Madison Square Park remains a hub of activity, with the Madison Square Park Conservancy (madisonsquarepark.org) curating everything from grand cultural events to intimate horticulture tours. If you’re not already following The NoMad Alliance (thenomadalliance.com), you’re missing out on fantastic local deals and exclusive opportunities. And for those looking for even more to do, the Flatiron NoMad Partnership website (flatironnomad.nyc) is regularly updated with exciting happenings.
The convenience of this neighborhood — centrally connected for commuters, filled with dynamic residential options, and home to incredible office spaces — makes it an ideal place to work, live, and play. This month, we tested our skills in a couple of escape rooms, took a Thai cooking class, and had our minds blown at The Magician show. We also had the privilege of meeting some of the savvy executives who are shaping this area’s future.
Personally, I feel incredibly lucky to spend most of my days in the NoMad-Flatiron corridor. A typical day often starts with a workout at SLT NoMad or Mile High Run Club, followed by an iced coffee and overnight oats from Think Coffee. Lunch is frequently from Naya or Eataly, and dinner? Well, it’s hard to resist the drinks and cuisine of Cecconi’s. In between, I’m discovering great shopping, booking venues for events, and uncovering hidden gems that make this neighborhood so special.
Truth be told, there’s very little reason to leave. Okay… sometimes I do, but I always come back.
Enjoy this issue, and let NoMad & Flatiron surprise you — just as they continue to surprise me.
Warmly,
Karen Giberson
