Editor’s Letter (Issue n.6)

Dear NOMAD Readers,

Happy Holidays! As the year winds down, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what makes this season so special — celebrating with friends, family, and our wonderful neighborhood. We’ve truly loved getting to know NoMad, and it’s the people and businesses here that make it such a unique and vibrant community.

This holiday season, I encourage you to make your plans close to home. NoMad is filled with incredible event venues that cater to every kind of celebration, whether you’re looking to throw a lively office party or host an intimate holiday gathering. The options are endless and inspiring.

When it comes to dining, our neighborhood is second to none. The amazing restaurants and food experiences here will delight every palate and price point. From casual to fine dining, you’ll find the perfect spot to make your holiday moments memorable.

Shopping locally is another way to support our community, and NoMad offers an abundance of gift options. Whether you’re looking for an innovative office pool gift or a splurge-worthy treasure, you won’t need to look far to find something special. I encourage everyone to shop, stay, and entertain locally this holiday season — it’s one of the best ways to embrace the spirit of NoMad.

Some of my personal favorite discoveries in the neighborhood this year include the show at Speakeasy Magick, honing my cooking skills at DeGustibus Cooking School, and enjoying a night of drag bingo at NoMad Diner. Sids’ Gym has become a go-to, and dinner at Cecconi’s at The Ned is always a treat — Faeta at the hostess desk and the team there welcome me like family.

And as I walk the streets of NoMad, I’m constantly inspired by the new businesses popping up — from boozy ice cream to innovative paper goods to decadent chocolates — it’s a great zone to discover new things. There are old favorites too — like 260 Sample Sale, where the ever-changing brands make each visit exciting, and LensCrafters on 23rd, offering exceptional service and fashionable frames.

It’s this mix of new and familiar that makes NoMad such a special place to live, work, and play. We’re thrilled to call this neighborhood home, and we’re grateful to be part of a community that’s full of energy, creativity, and endless opportunities.

Thank you for making this year unforgettable. From all of us at NOMAD Magazine, we wish you a joyful holiday season. Here’s to celebrating what makes our neighborhood so extraordinary. And to a fantastic year ahead!

Warmly,

Karen Giberson,
