Little Ned in NoMad

On a chilly February night, the NOMAD Magazine team made their way to a corner table at Little Ned, the eponymous lounge located inside the Ned NoMad hotel. The hotel, which opened in the summer of 2022, is tucked into a 1903 limestone facade Beaux Arts building on Broadway. Many of the hotel’s interior spaces are accessible only to guests and/or members, but on the first floor, both Cecconi’s Italian restaurant and Little Ned are open to the public.

Little Ned, a bar with 1920s-style booth seating and a casual menu of time-honored staples, is one of the neighborhood’s more eclectic haunts. On the night we visited, there was a line to get in, which gave the space an exclusive feel. With a rich interior and front windows that look out to the Empire State Building, Little Ned is both a romantic and beautiful space — one that takes its cue from the chain’s flagship, The Ned London, which opened in 2017.

The vintage-inspired cocktail bar has revolutionized standard cocktails with upscale modern ingredients like clarified strawberry, rhubarb bitters, and fig leaf and vanilla coconut water. A top-notch wine and champagne list, along with non-alcoholic mocktails, round out the drink selection. Food at Little Ned puts a fine dining spin on classic bar fare. From bites and appetizers to burgers, entrees, and an “out of this world” Caesar salad, any order is a good one. The favorite at our table was hands down the lobster roll with yuzu mayo, celery, and crispy shallot.

Little Ned in NoMad is open Monday through Saturday from 5 pm to 2 am.
