In the heart of NoMad lies Escape Virtuality, a state-of-the-art virtual reality and immersive entertainment complex that has been captivating adventurers since its debut in July 2019. Featuring an impressive lineup of activities — Escape Rooms, a VR Arcade, and Free-Roam VR — the venue promises visitors an experience filled with challenges, thrills, and unforgettable moments.
While Escape Virtuality offers everything from full- motion racing simulators to free-roam adventures, the NOMAD Magazine team ventured in to put our problem-solving skills to the test with one of their immersive escape rooms. Our challenge of choice: The Ghost Collector.
Stepping into the Ghost Collector’s séance room felt like entering a portal to New York City’s mysterious and haunted past. During our brief prep session with our puzzle master — we learned that according to the lore, a figure known only
as the Ghost Collector had captured malevolent spirits terrorizing the streets by binding them to specific personal objects. Our mission? Temporarily release the ghosts, locate their objects, and perform the correct rituals to return them to containment — all within 60 minutes. If we failed, the spirits would be unleashed upon NoMad forever.
The room was atmospheric and intricately designed, with eerie details that kept us on edge. Puzzles tested our wits, logic, and teamwork, and while we won’t reveal all the secrets hidden within its haunted walls, we can admit that our puzzle master had to nudge us in the right direction a few times. With just over 14 minutes to spare, our team solved the final challenge, safely capturing all the ghosts and restoring peace to the neighborhood. NoMad is safe… for now.
While we focused solely on the escape room, it was impossible not to marvel at the venue’s other offerings as we passed by. Escape Virtuality truly takes virtual entertainment to the next level, offering VR passes for those who want to immerse themselves in everything from cosmic space travel and adrenaline-pumping racing to spine-tingling horror adventures. And for those ready to break free from traditional stationary VR, the Free-Roam VR experience allows teams to explore expansive virtual worlds without limits.
