Avo NoMad

Avo — the world’s first avocado bar— opened its flagship location in the heart of NoMad. Airy, hip, and multiple shades of green, the wholesome food eatery offers all things avocado, from bowls to toasts to salads, sandwiches and sides. While a number of guests opt for takeout or delivery, the large space has two levels of in-house seating.

Founded by friends and partners Alessandro Biggi and Francesco Brachetti, the chain (with three other New York locations) leverages the benefits of avocados — a healthy fat — and selective sourcing to promote seasonal, nourishing, and uniquely crafted food. Because avocados are loaded with potassium, fiber, and good-for-you antioxidants, many consider them a super food, one that sticks to your ribs and supports eye health and memory function. The NOMAD Magazine team opted for the Spicy Chicken Bowl and the Tahini Bowl. Both were hearty and satisfying — an ideal grab and go meal to enjoy in nearby Madison Square Park on a spring day.

Avo NoMad is open 8 am to 8 pm, weekdays.
