Publisher’s Letter (Issue n.1)

Dear readers, visitors, and pioneers of the neighborhood,

As a longtime resident of NoMad, there is no one who embodies our tagline of “Live, Work, Play” more than I do. My husband and I live in the neighborhood where we have raised our son, and where my third-generation family-run commercial real estate business is headquartered.

I moved to NoMad after working here for nearly 20 years. When we first moved in, NoMad — as we know it today — didn’t exist. Over the last 13 years and through the steady work of The NoMad Alliance, the neighborhood has gained international recognition. Praised and appreciated for its stunning architecture, superlative park with world class art exhibits, award-winning restaurants, and all the best that New York City has to offer, NoMad was named this year by a major travel publication as one of the top 23 places to visit in 2023. Sometimes I actually feel like the unofficial mayor of this vibrant New York City jewel.

When the marketing team approached me with an idea for The NoMad Alliance to launch a quarterly digital magazine celebrating all that is NoMad it didn’t take much to get me on board.

The inaugural issue of NOMAD Magazine launches with the mission of continuing the ongoing work of The NoMad Alliance — supporting community, promoting local business and celebrating the heart of NoMad, Madison Square Park. As a board member of the Madison Square Park Conservancy as well as a board member of the Flatiron NoMad Partnership (BID), I am both honored and proud to present NOMAD Magazine, issue No. 1.

Enjoy this digital quarterly and learn all about the neighborhood that I and so many others, both residents and business owners, are lucky to call home.

There’s no place like NoMad.
