Rooftop bars in NoMad

We are well into NYC rooftop season, the six-month span — spring to fall — when if you can be, you should be, on a roof. Delicious cocktails paired with stunning views make for a perfect NYC experience. Here, we’ve rounded up a list of the must visit rooftop bars in the NoMad area. Which one will you be dining at?

Art Rooftop

107 E 27th Street

A staple of the neighborhood, the ART Rooftop sits 31 stories above street level in the Arlo Hotel. Cocktails and Middle Eastern snacks are the perfect complement to a stunning view of the Empire State Building. And if you’re feeling brave, take a snap on the sky walk glass floor installation which floats above the New York City streets. The bar is open 4:00 pm to late all week long as well as on Saturday mornings when Lit and Lean workout classes are underway.

Nubeluz

25 W 28th Street

The award-winning chef José Andrés has done it again, this time creating an enticing food and cocktail experience. Each drink comes with a 270-degree view of Manhattan — the bar is situated on the 50th floor of the Ritz-Carlton hotel. Miguel Lancha spearheads the cocktail program offering a unique service entitled “Bring Your Bottle Back” which allows for guests to have a personalized craft cocktail experience. The bottle service is tailored to that table’s palate and is $75 per person.

Broken Shaker Freehand New York

23 Lexington Avenue

Adding a bright retro flare to Lexington Avenue, Broken Shaker is tucked away on the top floor of the Freehand New York. The decor gives off Palm Spring paradise vibes. With sweeping views of the city and handcrafted tiki-inspired drinks, this Gabriel Orta and Elad Zvi creation is one for the books. Don’t believe us? Note their James Beard Award win for Tales of the Cocktail’s Best American Hotel Bar. We suggest popping by for happy hour, but with a 2:00 am close time on Friday and Saturday it might end up your late night go-to as well.

230 Fifth Rooftop Bar

230 5th Avenue

230 Fifth is NYC’s largest outdoor and indoor bar and event space. Open year-round, the expansive space is packed with nightly guest DJs and events, including the beloved Rosé Festival, which was July 15th this year. During the winter months, reach for the boozy hot chocolate while seated in one of the heated igloos. In the summer months, opt for the spritz and take in the views.

Glass Ceiling NoMad

1204 Broadway

This one wins most instagrammable with its perfect pairing of a pastel pink and emerald green color scheme. Known for weekend brunch, the Glass Ceiling has also perfected a menu of iconic drinks and shared dinner dishes. Open Wednesday through Sunday, keep an eye on their Instagram for upcoming events and special dinners.

Eataly Rooftop

200 5th Avenue

Located right on Madison Square Park, Eataly’s rooftop bar Serra by Birreria is an Italian countryside oasis in the middle of the bustling city. The name translates to “greenhouse” in Italian and, fittingly, the bar has more greenery than anywhere else in the city. The menu rotates seasonally, but is anchored by classic Italian cocktails and innovative shareable dishes. Come hungry and camera ready for this unique and stunning dining experience.

Sandbar Rooftop

152 W 26th Street

It’s like taking a trip to the Hamptons without leaving the city. The Sandbar Rooftop bar pairs a clean and classic catch a wave decor with 360-degree views of Manhattan. This is the perfect spot for a casual date or to catch up with friends. Try out their pinsa-style pizza and enjoy the Empire State Building’s light shows seven days a week.

Tavern 29

47 E 29th Street

Want a side of activity with your drink? Tavern
29 has you covered with weekly Sunday trivia, sporting event coverage, and themed brunches, including a July 4th fun fest. The $25 bottomless brunch is one of the city’s best deals. Sit inside for a pub-like ambiance or score a seat outside at a picnic table under a string of twinkle lights.

Whether it’s a quick drink after work or finding your go-to spot around the corner from your apartment, NoMad is the destination for rooftop bars.
