Hot Yoga At Corepower In NoMad

I’ve always been a fan of yoga, but the thought of downward dog in a temperature-controlled room set to 90-plus degrees has never appealed to me. Nevertheless, in the interest of expanding my mind and lowering my stress levels, I decided to sweat it out in a hot yoga class at Corepower in NoMad.

I claimed a spot in the coveted 7:30 am Level 2 class at Corepower Yoga and rented one of their rubber mats (hoping it would be the right material to keep me from slipping and sliding). Surprisingly, the heat in the room was actually soothing. Was this the feeling of toxins leaving my body? Because if so, I’ll take it.

As we flowed through the familiar poses, sweat dripped from my forehead and I swore I could feel my muscles lengthening, my stretches a touch deeper than usual — “warm up” took on a whole new meaning for me during the hour-long class and I walked away feeling lighter, clearer, and officially hooked.

Feeling the bliss, I decided to sign up for a yoga sculpt class. After all, you really can’t ever have too much yoga in your life. Sculpt class turned out to be a great way to incorporate more strength training into my routine in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming or unmanageable. Before long, I was looking for holes in my schedule where I could slip in more yoga classes. The best part of all this: I feel better mentally and physically stronger. I even think my skin is brighter and clearer.

Corepower Yoga has studios all over Manhattan, including NoMad. I love the state-of-the-art locker room in the https://experiencenomad.com/about/about-nomad/location (where I can transform from sweaty yogi to professional business woman with all the amenities), and for those times when getting there proves to be too much, the All-Access Membership offers live stream classes and on demand yoga.

My take: I’m officially a hot yoga girlie. From the stress reducing movements to the strength building routine, catch me on the mat six times a week in hot yoga at Corepower in NoMad.
