Editor’s Letter (Issue n.4)
Dear NOMAD Magazine readers,
What an honor it is to feature Mr. Danny Meyer in this issue. I have always been a fan of his famed restaurants and his best-selling book, “Setting the Table”, a must read guidebook about providing exceptional hospitality. I was less familiar, however, with his dramatic impact on Madison Square Park Conservancy.
In this issue we spoke to Mr. Meyer about his journey to revitalize the park. Were it not for his passion and perseverance, the park simply would not be the spectacular treasure it is today. We congratulate him on the 20th anniversary of Shake Shack and of course, his award at the Madison Square Park 2024 gala!
We also congratulate the team from Madison Square Park and applaud their high quality and robust programming. If you haven’t visited their website or signed up for their newsletter, you are missing out! There is a regular line up of speakers, events, art exhibits, and not to be missed seasonal events at the park, details can be found at MadisonSquarePark.org.
In this issue we continue our journey to shed light on the best places to live, work, and play. The entire editorial team had a great time taste-testing burgers from local eateries — we certainly enjoyed that assignment and can attest to the fact that there is no shortage of amazing food in the neighborhood. Check out our list of restaurants in the zone to find some of the world’s trendiest locations, most celebrated chefs, and tastiest dishes. (Good thing there are also world class gyms in NoMad!)
It’s been so much fun learning about your businesses, interviewing the dynamic people that work in the zone and trying out your products and services. Among this issue’s many great reads, we are featuring the story of one of America’s favorite intimate apparel brands, a Hollywood producer, and a renowned interior designer.
As always, we invite you to reach out with your ideas and share suggestions for future issues. We are proud to cover this exciting neighborhood!
Sincerely,
Karen Giberson
